Tooth Extractions

If due to decay, damage or gum disease, a tooth is non-restorable or has a low chance of survival, the only option is to have the tooth removed from the mouth. This is usually done in surgery using local anesthetic to numb the area around the tooth to be extracted. Full after care instructions will then be given to make the healing process as comfortable as possible.

Sometimes extracting teeth will be necessary for orthodontic treatment, when the teeth are severely crowded, or when the facial profile may see improvement. Our philosophy is that a harmonious facial balance comes first, and sometimes teeth extraction may be recommended to achieve this. All the spaces are then closed and a beautiful and healthy smile is produced. We will examine your mouth as soon as you reach our dental office and determine how to proceed. We’ll discuss each of your treatment options with you and make sure that you’re never kept in the dark.

It’s a fact that many patients, both young and old, suffer from a fear of tooth extraction. These feelings can occur for a number of reasons, and they may be relatively mild or more severe in nature. At Valleyview Dental, we believe in helping patients feel safe and right at home every time they come in.  Sedation is available to patients who request for a more relaxation experience. Our practice is designed to put you at ease, offering all the latest diagnostic and treatment.
